A preschool that feels personal

At Little Beans Preschool, we offer a part-time morning program designed for children ages 3-5 who are ready for gentle structure, social growth, and hands-on learning in a smaller, nurturing environment.

Our program is ideal for families looking for a thoughtful first school experience, a stepping stone before full-time school, or a part-time option that still leaves room for family life.

What your child will build here

School Readiness

Children begin practicing the routines, listening skills, independence, and transitions that help them feel more prepared for kindergarten.

Social Confidence

Through guided play and group experiences, children learn how to make friends, participate, take turns, and feel part of a classroom community.

Emotional Regulation

We help children recognize feelings, express themselves appropriately, and build the emotional tools they need to thrive.

Hands-on Learning

Our days include play, art, movement, exploration, and age-appropriate activities that keep learning active and engaging.

Thoughtful early learning

While play is at the heart of everything we do, our program thoughtfully introduces early academic foundations through hands-on experiences.  Children are exposed to:

Phonics & early literacy through songs, stories, and letter recognition
Early math concepts like counting, patterns, sorting, and number awareness
STEAM exploration through building, problem-solving, and sensory activities
Geography & culture through seasonal themes, stories, and world awareness

We focus on building curiosity and confidence first, knowing that a child who loves learning will go further than one who is rushed.

Meet the Teacher

Teaching little ones is a blessing I ‘ve had the privilege to do for over 35 years. My name is Teresa Martin….”Mrs Martin” or “Ms Teresa” or more often just  “TEACHER!” I began teaching at a small Christian school in 1982, right after high school graduation. After working there for 6 years as a teacher, assistant director, and director, I moved on to another school in Sierra Madre California. At Bethany Christian School, I taught a variety ages of preschoolers from 2 1/2- 4 year olds. I was the director for 2 of those years,  but the most important part of my experiences at Bethany was meeting my husband and together having our three children.  I started Bethany in 1988 and by the time we moved to Grants Pass I had worked there for a total of 13 years. In 2007 I joined the staff at Brighton Academy as the PreK teacher and have been there in that capacity until our final day of school this past June 6th.

I love working with preschool aged children,  and feel that God has blessed me with the gift of doing so. I enjoy planning activities that engage, inspire, and challenge the kids to explore and be creative. One of my favorite aspects of teaching , is to equip the kids to know how to understand and appropriately express their emotions. Emotional and social skills are so important for developing a healthy,  well rounded child.
I am excited about this new chapter in my life, working with preschool aged children at Little Beans, and looking forward to see what God has in store.
