What Makes the Little Beans Summer Program Different?

At Little Beans, summer is more than just playtime — it’s a season of discovery, confidence building, and learning. Our program blends the warmth of a nurturing preschool environment with the excitement of hands-on exploration. Each week introduces new themes and activities designed to spark curiosity and help little learners grow.

Parents love our program because we offer:
🌱 Small, supportive groups where every child feels seen
🎨 Play-based learning inclusive of life skills
🌍 Creative exploration through art, culture, science, and nature
🤸 Movement and social play that builds confidence and friendships

It’s the perfect balance of learning, imagination, and summer fun for children ages 3–5.

Teaching little ones is a blessing I ‘ve had the privilege to do for over 35 years. My name is Teresa Martin….”Mrs Martin” or “Ms Teresa” or more often just  “TEACHER!” I began teaching at a small Christian school in 1982, right after high school graduation. After working there for 6 years as a teacher, assistant director, and director, I moved on to another school in Sierra Madre California. At Bethany Christian School, I taught a variety ages of preschoolers from 2 1/2- 4 year olds. I was the director for 2 of those years,  but the most important part of my experiences at Bethany was meeting my husband and together having our three children.  I started Bethany in 1988 and by the time we moved to Grants Pass I had worked there for a total of 13 years. In 2007 I joined the staff at Brighton Academy as the PreK teacher and have been there in that capacity until our final day of school this past June 6th.

I love working with preschool aged children,  and feel that God has blessed me with the gift of doing so. I enjoy planning activities that engage, inspire, and challenge the kids to explore and be creative. One of my favorite aspects of teaching , is to equip the kids to know how to understand and appropriately express their emotions. Emotional and social skills are so important for developing a healthy,  well rounded child.
I am excited about this new chapter in my life, working with preschool aged children at Little Beans, and looking forward to see what God has in store.
